Welcome! Explore the foundations of tap dance — the art of rhythm in motion: introduction to jazz and swing, contemporary choreography, to get to know your new instrument: the tap shoes.
Next gear: new technical sequences, more athletic dance, memorization and performance on long musical phrases and syncopated rhythms — swing, pop, funk, Latin — and musical theatre choreography.
3 - 4 years

For experienced dancers pursuing professional or semi-pro training. Advanced students may in time join the professional Tap Dance Paris company (shows and events).

Internationally recognized tap dancer, choreographer and pedagogue. Author and performer of critically acclaimed shows (Tap Virtuoso, Rhythm on Fire, Soul Feet…), tap choreographer for La Cage aux Folles at the Théâtre du Châtelet (2025), directed by Olivier Py.
Flora
Brazilian dancer and choreographer, member of the Tap Dance Paris company. Her lightness and her swing-Latin rhythms will help you progress in both technique and musicality.

An art in full revolution
A popular American dance born in the late 19th century from the fusion of African rhythms and Irish dance, popularized by Broadway musicals, tap dance is experiencing a true renaissance today with the integration of pop, electroswing and hip-hop music. A new audience is captivated, inspired by the current stars of the discipline: Savion Glover, Michelle Dorrance, Jason Samuels Smith, Jared Grimes, Sarah Reich… The combination of rhythm, music and percussion makes it a dance apart — of exceptional energy and musicality.

Common questions before booking
I've never tapped before — is this really for me?
Absolutely. Our beginner classes welcome students who have never danced before every season. No flexibility, no "natural sense of rhythm" required — everything is learned, step by step. Monday 7:30 PM at Kajyn Studio (11th) and Saturday 10:30 AM at Studio Bleu (10th) are the ideal slots for your first steps.
Do I need to buy tap shoes before starting?
No — especially not before your trial class. We provide loaner tap shoes: just arrive about ten minutes before class to borrow a pair. If you decide to continue, we'll help you choose the right model based on your foot, your level and your budget.
How does the €15 trial class work?
A real one-hour class, integrated into the regular group of your level (beginner or intermediate). No membership, no commitment: you experience the technique, the atmosphere and the teacher first-hand. If you love it — and most people do — you can enroll in a term pass right after.
What's the difference between the term pass and the annual pass?
The term pass (€179 for 10 classes, membership included) is ideal for starting without committing to a full year. The annual pass (€449) covers the entire season — a saving of about 25% — and unlocks member benefits: discounts on international workshops and unlimited access to class videos. Renewal term pass at €140 from your second card onwards.
What if I miss several classes during the term?
Missed classes can be made up in another slot at the same level, subject to availability. For annual pass members, a video of the class is available online. Just let us know by email at contact@tapdanceparis.com.
Can I change levels during the year?
Yes — and we encourage it. Whether you progress faster than expected or prefer to build your foundations a little longer, level changes are made in agreement with your teacher, at no extra cost.
